Collaborations with local businesses to raise awareness and support for MCFA
Slack Tide Sea Salt is a small women-owned and operated business in York, Maine. The Fishermen’s Blend Lemon Dill Sea Salt is made with locally harvested and dried salts from Maine waters. This MCFA co-branded salt is for sale on Slack Tide’s website with $1 from every jar going to MCFA’s Fishermen Feeding Mainers program.
CHART Metalworks is a business based in Portland, Maine that sources most of its materials in Maine to make hand-cast metal merchandise using maps, charts and graphics that they layer with boater’s resin to create jewelry and other gifts that celebrate Maine’s coast. They have partnered with MCFA to create merchandise that supports our program including a special collection in honor of F/V Hayley Ann, the boat of former MCFA Board Chair Joe Nickerson who tragically passed away at sea.
Three of Strong Spirits is a Portland-based business that prides itself on the sustainable distillation of small-batch spirits. They partnered with MCFA as a part of their “Community Spirits” program in August to create the Maine Coast Martini which features notes of salinity and flavors of Douglas fir and heather. $2 from each signature cocktail sold were donated to MCFA’s Fishermen Feeding Mainers program.
Maine Salt Farm is based in Cape Elizabeth and has committed to donating 1% for the fishermen to MCFA in support of what MCFA is doing to build a sustainable future for Maine fishermen, preserve critical waterfront infrastructure, and bolster a local food system for the good of the region is exactly what we seek to support and celebrate.
