In January of 2020, Capt. Joe Nickerson and his crew perished at sea while out fishing on F/V Hayley Ann. Joey was the chairman of MCFA, a great man, father, husband, and grandfather. Joey was the embodiment of what it means to be a Maine fisherman in a changing world. He didn’t pick an easy life, but he picked a life that he loved, and he fought for that way of life every day. 
 
Joey's daughter, Hayley, designed these bags in partnership with MCFA and Seabags to honor her father's legacy. All proceeds will support MCFA in advocating for Maine's fishing communities and the next generation of fishermen in Maine.
